Common Model Errors and How to Fix Them
When uploading a 3D model, you may see errors during processing. Below we explain the most common issues and how to solve them.
Model has holes
Sometimes the generated mesh isn’t fully closed, leaving small holes.
This creates a “leaking” effect where the model isn’t recognized as a solid volume, which prevents us from printing it correctly.
We are working on automated ways to close holes, but because textures are involved, we need to make sure the colors and details remain accurate.
No colors on model
If your model appears without colors, it usually means that a texture or material file is missing during export.
Usually trying again should resolve the issue.

Model processing timeout
This happens when the model is too complex for our system to process.
A common cause is the presence of small floating shells. These are tiny parts that aren’t connected to the main model, such as petals not attached to a flower stem. They make it difficult to calculate volume and required support material resulting in the model taking too long to load and timing out.
Possible Solutions
Manually fix the model
You can download your 3D model from Meshy and open it in software such as Blender, Maya, MeshLab, or Magics.
Check for open holes and weld them shut.
Look for separate shells that are not connected to the main body and remove or merge them.
Once corrected, export the file to OBJ, zip it together with the MTL and texture files, and upload it to hub.marketiger3d.com for a direct quote.

Regenerate the model
On Meshy.ai, try regenerating your model with a higher resolution and enable quadmesh. This often improves the mesh quality and reduces the risk of holes.
