Short answer
Our full-color 3D printers have a build platform of 508 × 508 × 305 mm. However, practically such size is challenging to print in one piece. In case you have object larger than 300 x 300 x 200 mm it is recommended to contact Customer Support for further advice.
Maximum print size
The maximum printable size corresponds to the build volume of our Mimaki 3DUJ printers:
Width: 508 mm
Depth: 508 mm
Height: 305 mm
Printing larger models
If your model exceeds these or our recommended dimensions, it may still be possible to print it by:
Splitting the model into multiple parts
Printing the parts separately
Assembling the parts after production
This approach is commonly used for large sculptures, architectural models, and prototypes.
Pricing considerations for large models
Printing larger models significantly increases the price of the object. This is because larger prints require substantially more:
Model material
Support material
Print time
Have a higher risk of failure during print
In Mimaki full-color printing, support resin is generated around the model during printing to stabilize the geometry. Larger objects therefore require more support material in addition to the model material itself, which increases production cost.
Important considerations
The dimensions refer to the maximum bounding box of the model.
The orientation of the model in the printer may affect whether it fits within the build volume.
Very large prints may require splitting the model into multiple parts.
